Quarter 1 Waiwai: Hoʻokipa

to welcome, to treat hospitably, to visit and call upon

Matthew 10:40

But Jesus call the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Luke 18:16

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Ecclesiastes  4:9-10

Quarter 2 Waiwai: Maluhia

Peace, security, tranquility, restful safety

"The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each one to his home, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world, you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!"

John 16:32-33

Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

2 Corinthians 13:11

Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians  4:6-7

Quarter 3 Waiwai: ʻImiʻike

Look, seek, and search for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding

"Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you."

Matthew  7:7

But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 16:33

if you indeed cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding; if you seek it like silver, and search for it as for hidden treasures - then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

Proverbs  2:3-6

Quarter 4 Waiwai: Pilina

Relationships, connection, joining, fitting, association, that which is close

And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24-25

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."

John  3:16

"Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me."

John 15:4

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans  8:35-39
